#8. This is a portrait of musician James Bay in graphite. He asked for fan art on his tumblr. It was fun to draw a more developed portrait but I spent way too many hours on this. 

#7. This is a copy of Nicolai Fechin drawing with pen. Doing a master copy in pen is really hard to do but im gonna keep trying.

#6. Drawing with pen again. I like the look of pen portraits but need to build up slowly. Oftentimes I go too dark too soon and it ends up being in the wrong place.

A quick attempt at copying Nicolai Fechin drawing in pen. There is so much wrong with this that I wish I would have done it in pencil. I am itching to fix it.

I switched to pen today so that I either hit it or not and dont spend hours obsessing over the drawing like past few days. I'm also hoping this will trick my brain into getting proportions right on the first go. With this one the nose got too long. But i like the feeling of drawing with the pen. I might stick to it for a little while.

I plan to do 100 portrait/figures(one a day hopefully). I feel like I dont draw enough and my drawing suffers esp when I try to paint the figure/portrait from life.
My goals for the project are
1.Be more expressive with my line
2.Get proportions/features and head tilt/perspective right.
3.Efficiency - not spend more than 40 mins on a drawing.
I am working from photographs (this one is a reference from sktchy app).
I plan to post them here on my blog. Lets see how it goes :)
